Audi A4

After the thriving launch of Audi A6 in India at the Aurangabad branch, the Audi officials are very crucial to launch its new model Audi A4 in the market from the very same plant at Aurangabad. If we consider to what the company officials say, we find that the company has been able to conglomerate at the market sales in the past seven-eight months. Audi is well planned to launch its A4 model at all its selected dealer center locations which are nearly twelve through out the nation.
Nearly 50 employees are working in CKD (Completely Knock Down) production department of the company at the group plant at Aurangabad. Indian team for the Audi production is skilled in terms of production efficiency, electronics, logistics and the available quality of the automobile. These trainees are trained at Neckarsulm at Germany.

Looking at the safety side of the car we find that the car is provided with front and side crash protectors. With (FSI) Fuel Stratified Injection system present in 2.0 TFSI and 3.2 V6 FSI petrol/gasoline engines, the car is highly equipped to give a power out-put of 200 and 255 PS or 147 and 188 KW. Both the engines give designs of engine power with four-valve per cylinder designs. According the company officials the five-valve engine is incapable to compete with the fuel stratified injection system. 2.0 TDI diesel engine is now equipped with 16 valves, there by making the car more compatible in accordance with the other cars. The earlier present 2.5 TDI engine car is now turned 3.0L which is capable of offering 204 PS or can say 150 KW. Its 5-speed manual transmission is changed to a 6-speed transmission.

The new Audi A4 has the subtle styling that whispers class and a build quality. The attention to detail inside is second to none, and the drive is certainly not going to disappoint. There is good reason the new Audi A4 is proving to be so popular.

Externally the A4 wears the new Audi goatee which lends a real aggression to the front end. Internally the new A4 has a notice to detail only Audi could manage. All materials feel expensive and the fit and finish is impeccable. As you would imagine from an Audi A4, there is abundance room to seat 4 adults comfortably, plus with the boot being one of the largest in its class, you won’t have to travel light either.

All versions of the new Audi A4 come well equipped with kit, but the S and SE models prove to be great value with competitive prices plus loads of kit and toys too.

The new Audi A4 rides and handles fantastically. With either front wheel drive or the Audi Quattro four wheel drive system, grip is sufficient. Cornering is also direct and sharp, but the suspension is still refined enough to not be upset by poor surfaces.

There is a range of 10 engines available for the new A4. The range starts with the 1.6 petrol, and goes all the way up to a 3.2 diesel, with 8 various petrol and diesel lumps in between. All the engines are more than capable, and it really comes down to preference.

Company officials are expecting that they would boom the market with their new Audi A4. So, we think that the result come forward.

5AT with Paddle Shift

The unique Paddle Shift gear option allows you to switch gears without using the clutch pedal. The 5AT (Automatic Transmission) allow you to change gear ratios automatically-freeing you from having to shift gears manually. The right paddle is for shifting up while the left paddle is for shifting down, which is the same as for an F1 machine.

In D-range mode, the driver can shift up and down by using the paddles, while automatically returning to normal AT driving mode when a sensor determines the car is cruising. On the other hand, in S-range, the mode does not revert automatically to AT driving mode, which allows the driver to enjoy a manual transmission-like driving feel.

Manual Transmission

The All New City boasts of a smoother wire type manual transmission gear shift with hydraulic clutch. As compared to a rod type, wire type operating system makes for a much smoother gear shift. During a frontal collision, when the sensors detect an impact that exceeds a preset threshold, the airbags are instantly deployed and then gradually deflated to reduce head and chest injuries.

At the same time, when seat-belt load exceeds a certain preset threshold, the 3-point ELR front seat-belts with load-limiting pre-tensioner immediately rewind and tighten, then loosen again to reduce chest and shoulder injuries.

ABS + Brake Assist :

These systems work to prevent wheel lock in an emergency braking situation or when braking on slippery road surfaces. ABS stabilizes the vehicle while braking so that the driver can better control it and avoid obstacles ahead. The Brake Assist system helps the driver when braking, leading to increased brake force in emergency situations.

G-con : Honda’s unique G-Force Control Technology(G-CON) controls impact energy in the event of a collision and limits injuries. Honda has enhanced collision safety through real-world collision safety research, including car-to-car crash testing at the world’s first indoor Omni directional crash test safety facility.

Mahindra Bolero

One glance at the Bolero’s bulbous exterior and the lack of curves makes its presence felt. Maybe a few years back this would have been known as an SUV but then progression of SUVs has moved so progressively in India that the lack of curves and boxy look makes the Bolero look different. The front bumpers do add a nice touch and makes a nice statement. The rugged out of town is the one that stands out. The only statement you make when you own one is that you make frequent trips out of town and you have a large family to move around.

The engine on offer is a 2.5l diesel and is much more refined than the previous offering. This does not take much from the power which is 64bhp at 3200rpm. It is a really good companion for traveling away from the tarmac and good low end torque to ride over gradients and basically anything different from the tarmac’s potholes. The suspension is on the stiff side which is very evident at slow speeds but then evens out at high or even moderate speeds. The steering is quite responsive taking into consideration the bulk it has to handle and the transmission is something we will try not to talk about. The heavy clutch and gearshifts add to the woes.

The seating positions and leg views are adequate to say the least. The mileage figures are the ones that really catch the eye and could be the USP for this brawler. You can expect close to 14kpl in the city and an astonishing 18kpl on the highway.

Advantages :
  • Mileage
  • Value for money
  • Ruggedness
Disadvantages :
  • Plastic interiors
  • Bear Box
  • Boxy looks
